Angel wants to know what the [Senior Partners] plans are and believes Lindsey can help him on that.

Gunn finds out that Lindsey is in a "hold dimension", as punishment for having tried to kill Angel (You're Welcome), and he, Angel and Spike go there to rescue the enemy. They succeed, but Gunn stays there, replacing Lindsey (by his own choice) as an atonement for the role he played in Fred's death — every day, he will have his heart ripped off his chest by a medieval demon.

Back at Wolfram & Hart, Lindsey tells Angel that the Apocalypse is already happening, that the Senior Partners have been keeping the Fang Gang busy with small stuff in order for them to not notice the big end coming.

And [Eve], who worked with Lindsey against her own bosses, is fired and replaced by [Marcus Hamilton].

Origin

[Connor], Angel's son who nobody remembers, shows up at Wolfram & Hart (with his parents) to the vampire distress; as the boy was run down by a van and didn't die his parents want some advise.

Connor is introduced to Spike and Illyria in the training room — Spike is testing the ex-god-king, because the Fang Gang want to know which are his powers. The vampire takes his research very seriously, making notes in a clipboard.

Later, Angel finds out that Connor's return is a plan by sorcerer [Cyvus Vail] (the one who build Connor's  false memories), who wants the boy to fulfill a prophecy — kill [Sahjhan]. Angel has to agree when Vail threatens to break the [Window of Orlon] and have the memories of Connor restored.

Meanwhile, Wesley investigates why the case bothers Angel so much and ends up finding out that Wolfram & Hart paid Vail a huge amount of money in the very day the Fang Gang started working at the firm — and the contract was [signed] by Angel. And Illyria tells Wesley that parts of Fred's memories were altered.

When Wes goes to confront Angel, the vampire is in Vail's mansion, watching Connor fight Sahjhan. Wes breaks the Window of Orlon and his own memory is restored — he remembers Connor, the fact he kidnapped the boy and all the bad things that happened afterwards. Connor, who was having some difficulty fighting Sahjhan, suddenly becomes skillful and kills the demon. When Angel approaches his son, it seems Connor doesn't remember anything, he just wants to return to his family.

However, back at Wolfram & Hart when Connor is leaving, he says he will always do what it takes to protect his family — because this is something he learned from his father.

Time Bomb

Ben Edlund

Illyria rescues Gunn from the "hold dimension", as a favor to Wesley.

Spike is still testing Illyria's powers — or rather, Spike is still being beaten by Illyria.

Later, Illyria starts to jump from present, to past, to future, without knowing how to control it.

Wesley eventually finds out the ex-god-king is about to explode (his human shell is too weak) and develops a weapon to drain most of his powers — but keeping him from dying. Afterwards, Illyria can't alter time (slow-motion), go through dimensions or talk to plants anymore, but still has super-strength.

Also, one of Wolfram & Hart's clients — the Fell Brethren — apparently convinces Angel that its members have the right to keep the baby of a young girl, although is written on the contract that the child will be sacrificed when he or she turns 13.

The Girl in Question

Spike and Angel fly to Italy, to "save" Buffy from the "evil" Immortal. The two vampires, who have already met this fellow in the past (1894) — when he locked the fiends in a dungeon just to have a little fun with Darla and Drusilla — are very worried when someone calls them and tells the Slayer has been spotted with him. Arriving in Rome, [Andrew] tells Spike and Angel that Buffy is out with the Immortal; they chase her around the city, to no avail. Eventually, Andrew tells them Buffy is in love with the Immortal and that both vampires should move on.

While in Italy, Angel and Spike also have a job to do for Wolfram & Hart — to retrieve a demon head and take it back to Los Angeles within a few hours, because from it will grow a brand-new body after some rituals are performed.

The problem is that they lose the head while after Buffy, and eventually return home defeated — just to discover that the Immortal has sent the head to Wolfram & Hart.

Not Fade Away

Jeffrey Bell & Joss Whedon

The Fang Gang are about to fight the final fight. Each individual spends the day before the big battle as it pleases them, as suggested by Angel.

Angel meets Connor, and learns that the boy knows he is his father.

Gunn meets [Anne].

Lorne goes to a karaoke bar.

Wesley stays in Spike's apartment, taking care of an injured Illyria.

Spike reads his poetry (dedicated to [Cecily]) at a Poetry Slam in a seedy bar — and the audience adores his work:

My soul is wrapped in harsh repose,
Midnight descends in raven-colour'd clothes
But soft — behold! — a sunlight beam
cutting a swath of glimmering gleam
My heart expands — 'tis grown a bulge in't
Inspired by your beauty... effulgent.

When the time comes, Angel gives missions to each one of the Fang Gang, in order for them to achieve a main goal: bring down the [Circle of the Black Thorn]. Right before leaving, Angel tells his friends that someone in his team is a traitor.

Wesley dies (in Illyria/Fred's arms) after trying to kill Cyvus Vail; Illyria kills Vail and Izzy (the Vinji leader).

Gunn kills senator Helen Bruckner.

Lindsey is shot to death by Lorne, after they exterminate the Shavrins; then, Lorne leaves.

Harmony is the traitor and is fired; Connor appears to help Angel fight Hamilton; Angel kills Hamilton and then Connor leaves.

Spike kills all members of the Fell Brethren and rescues the baby who would be sacrificed at 13.

In the very end, Angel, Spike, Illyria and Gunn (severely wounded by Bruckner's vampires) have to face a hell army (which includes a dragon and a giant) sent by the Senior Partners — and the good fight goes on.

AND THE STORY CONTINUES ON COMIC BOOKS!
